I've always wanted to have a little dog that I could name "Spot." Well, now I do have a little spotted dog, but his name is "Buddy." This new blog is not really about Buddy, but he is a part of my life. I am an artist, and this blog will be about my life and my art. Welcome!

little altars everywhere
If there is a windowsill in my house, it is usually littered with my "treasures." Especially in my studio, and the kitchen window. I love items from nature - rocks, shells, feathers, acorns, etc. But I cannot stay away from little items with magical charms - small icons, Marys, angels, goddesses, Buddhas, art, fish, snakes, dogs, and on and on. A couple of years ago I started making shrines - little box assemblages - to "use up" some of my treasured junks. (I'll post some photos of those next time...) But, today, I was in my studio doing some collage work in my next journal, and the sun was hitting some of the doo-dads on the windowsill, and I realized that I do have these Little Altars Everywhere. By the way, that book - by Rebecca Wells - who also wrote The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood - was excellent.
