Here are a few photos of my shrines, as promised in the previous post. I think I created more than 50 of them, actually. I published a book - at blurb.com - with photos of the first 35.
One day I was sitting by the pond at our place near Long Pine, Nebraska, and looking at the woods, and the arches created by the tree limbs. I thought then that "this is my cathedral."
When I came home, I added tree twig arches to a few of the shrines.
So, they are "my cathedrals." Every little piece of junk attached to these assemblages has some symbolic meaning to me. I especially love the wonderfully rusted metal fragments.
I won't tell you what it all means to me. You can come to your own conclusions.
I still have many of these, and of course, most are for sale. Many have already been purchased or gifted.
