Reinhold Marxhausen

The other day, I was walking through my livingroom, and noticed that the lampshade was smiling.
Of course, I had to take a picture of it. It made me happy.
I was reminded of a photo that I had seen years ago, by Reinhold Marxhausen, of smiling buckets. That made me happy too.
So, in the last couple of days I have been posting a lot of things on FaceBook about Reinhold Marxhausen. He was an art instructor at Concordia State Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska. I never had him as an instructor, but I had the good fortune to have met him many times. I consider him one of my mentors. I learned so much about learning to see from him. About finding beauty and joy in everyday moments. About how the light changes things. About change. He has been gone for quite some time, and I hadn't really thought much about him. Until I saw that smiling lampshade. Hi, Reinhold.
